A group of prominent community leaders have come together to form a foundation to support Ferris schools. The Ferris ISD Education Foundation has announced their focus to enhance community support and extend resources that enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize opportunities for all students in the Ferris School District.
The sole purpose of the newly formed Ferris ISD Education Foundation is to benefit the students, sta and educators of Ferris schools by providing funds for education programs and activities that are not funded by the normal operating budget. These funds will be used to recognize and encourage sta excellence, recognition of student academic achievement, student scholarships and more. Funding priorities will also include funds for innovative teaching grants that will provide resources for teachers to implement exciting new educational programs. The grant process has been established, and teachers and sta will be eligible to participate in requesting funds this fall.
The Ferris ISD Education Foundation is a charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Service section 501 (c)(3) and contributions to the organization are tax deductible. “The education foundation board of directors are dedicated to our community and educational excellence, and I am proud to serve with them to support and enhance the Ferris ISD school district. Our mission is to engage the Ferris family to inspire and empower students, sta and educators.” -Felicia Brown, FEF President
